How can Kinesiology help with my anxiety?

Anxiety can feel all consuming, it can be something you’ve experienced you whole life or from a recent event.

Kinesiology helps anxiety by working with the trigger. This could be within the mind, body or spirit. Using muscle testing to navigate these layers and uncovering one or many triggers that are resulting in the sensation of anxiety.

Labeling anxiety

Anxiety is generally the anticipation of an event based on past events.

Anxiety is your body's response to threats, either actual or perceived.

But sometimes we can feel anxiety for no apparent reason.

Have you experienced this? Theres no immediate threats or even perceived threats?

This is were we need to address the motivator of the anxiety holistically.

We usually look external as to why we experience anxiety but it's time to start looking within as well.

What subconscious beliefs are we holding that are motivating us to feel anxiety in this

moment?

Having this awareness is a major step in our

journey to supporting ourselves in anxious moments.

The nervous system

Have you ever felt this?

A work presentation is looming and your anxious thoughts are in overdrive? You're sweating, even shaking. Sleepless nights alongside nausea.

Your nervous system is in overdrive. Your Sympathetic Nervous System is switched on (SNS), in extreme fight or flight mode.

Cortisol and adrenaline are pumping through your body (hence the shaking and sweating). Even when the situation hasn't happened yet! It may have gone 'wrong' in the past and you're anticipating it to happen again.

Anatomically your nervous system is timeless and not discerning. It cannot differentiate when a threat is happening in real time or if it is life threatening.

These signals from the body that we are in a threat state are required in life threatening situations. Think of cavemen and women.

In this day and age we don't need to anticipate a tiger attack. But we have other stresses to contend with. Over working, constant stimulus from our phones, media, drugs, alcohol and other addictions.

Our bodies are constantly stimulated and our bodily sensations create our thoughts.

So let's look at the motivator around the thoughts...

Bypassing the conscious brain to work with the subconcious

In Kinesiology we use muscle monitoring to detect were there is a dis-ease between the conscious and the subconscious.

Consciously we may feel and think we have no 'reason' to be anxious. But subconsciously we maybe holding limiting beliefs that are motivating our anxious thoughts.

Working with the nervous system to balance you into homeostasis. The sweet spot between SNS and PNS (Parasympathetic Nervous System).

If our nervous systems are in overdrive, these bodily sensations will create anxious thoughts.

But what story or belief system is running in the background?

Are we feeling unsafe, unworthy or unloved?

These and various other beliefs could be the motivating reason as to why we are feeling anxious.

Looking at you holistically

A few other reasons that play a part in feelings of anxiety are:

  • Nutrition

  • Sleep

  • Breathing

  • Water Intake

  • Mindfullness/Stillness

  • Lifestyle

  • Toxins e.g heavy metals, drugs and alcohol

  • Devices/scrolling culture

  • Addictions - yes you can be addicted to your anxious thoughts

In a randomised controlled clinical study evaluating the efficacy of vitamin D supplementation on anxiety,

it was reported that the administration of 1600 mg of vitamin D for 6 months improved anxiety symptoms.

The motivator...

We all have a motivating reason why we experience anxiety.

Control plays a huge part in anxiety. We are overthinking, trying to anticipate an outcome to make ourselves feel safe.

It's important to remember our thoughts are not real.

Presence, being grounded in this moment allows us to transmute the story we are creating in our minds.

How was your childhood?

Inner child work alongside nervous system regulation and energy work supports us to feel safe, secure and nurtured in our daily settings.

Often with clients I have found the inner child is feeling unsafe.

Usually this is due to a predominant care giver not providing a safe space for the child to reside. Either emotionally or physically or both.

If you were raised in a turbulent environment, your childhood was spent keeping yourself safe.

As adults this can show up as hyper-vigilance, control and disassociation. Anxious or avoidant or a combination of both attachment styles.

Physically we can experience panic attacks, addiction, autoimmune diseases.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine...

Anxiety sits within the Metal element or Earth element.

Earth - Stomach and Spleen Meridian Channels relate to worth and putting other before self.

Do you overthink others needs, causing you anxiety?

Experiencing digestive issues and frontal headaches.

Metal - Large Intestine and Lung Meridian

Channels relate to value, grief and guilt.

Are these causing you to feel anxious? Are you

putting your power externally to yourself?

If you have any questions or wish to experience this yourself please drop me a message and we can book in a session.
