Devotion isn’t about losing self in another. It’s about presence.
Presence opens up the divine space that flows in a union. The unique energies that you both hold and cultivate in the container of a relationship.
When we loose ourself in another, we loose are unique essence. Which is important to bring to a union. Because our unique essence is what draws our partner to us. The balance of energies, the yin and yang.
If we have conditioning around people pleasing, we can loose our unique identities to ensure the stability of a relationship. Maybe this has been a pattern from childhood. Shutting down the uniqueness of you to fit into a mould.
To ensure a relationship ‘stays’ we devout ourselves the only way we know how, by loosing our own unique identities to fit what we think they need.
Of course we wish to support our partners with devotion. But have it rooted in presence.
By being open to their wants and needs as well as your own. By holding space and allowing the energies to flow through you both. Not just a giving or a taking.
A moment to moment awareness of the other and of self.
When we show up with presence for Self, we can for another.
Thank you for reading dear one, love and light to you.
